The aim of the activities are to learn about weather symbols, basic weather phenomena and to think about the link between real weather observations and predicting the weather forecast. I developed this activity as part of the University of Leicester EOS primary school outreach programme – Blue Marble.
This activity helps you understand how clouds and tornadoes are formed – you get to make a cloud in a bottle and a tornado in a bottle.
These activities were run as part of the University of Leicester EOS Blue Marble outreach programme to KS1 and KS2 in primary schools along with the Weather Forecasting activity. These activities were also run during 2013 BBC Star Gazing Live East Midlands Event and 2014 Leicester Star Gazing Live.
